She Who Held the Sky — Pen & ink
On Softness as Strength
The Woman Behind
the Line
There is a kind of strength that looks like stone. It builds things. It raises children. It smiles through the unspeakable. For the longest time, that was the only kind of strength she knew.
The art came later, and it came through damage. A violent encounter left its mark on her hand — the very hand she now uses to make these works. That hand, carrying the physical evidence of what she survived, insists in every mark it makes on beauty. On complexity. On the right to continue.
She has since found what she had never been permitted to discover: what it feels like to be truly held. In Ubud, Bali, she now lives in the warm air of a life she chose — soft, sacred, fully herself.
